Standard Shrek Drinking Game

To play the standard Shrek Drinking Game you simply take a sip of your drink when any of the following incidents occur:

1. Donkey sings. Donkey actually has a decent voice. Enjoy it with a drink.
2. The words “Really, really” are spoken. Keep your ears peeled throughout the movie for this one.
3. Someone makes a short joke. Short as in height, not the length of the joke.
4. The word “steed” is used. Noble, indeed.
5. Shrek carries someone. It may be in his arms, over his shoulder, etc.
6. Musical montage. When you see a series of scenes captured with no dialogue, just music in the background, have a drink.
7. Donkey is sad. Donkey has a lot of ups and downs in this movie. Drink with Donkey in his moments of despair.
8. Shrek and Fiona have a romantic moment. The tension is real and should be acknowledged.
9. Donkey falls asleep. Epic journeys require rest. Recharge with Donkey.
10. Dragon makes an appearance. Dragon is the unsung hero in this movie and should be celebrated.
11. People of Duloc respond to cue cards. It’s funny, have a drink.

Higher Frequency Shrek Drinking Game

The higher frequency game is the standard Shrek Drinking Game with a few additions. Take a sip of your drink when any of the incidents above and below occur:

1. The word “Ogre” is spoken. Ogres have layers. Drink to acknowledge that.
2. Each musical montage scene. When you see a series of scenes captured with no dialogue, just music in the background, have a drink for each scene.
3. Fiona harms something or someone. Advertently or inadvertently. Drink to help ease their pain.
4. Donkey’s ears go down. Donkey wears his emotions on his ears (no sleeves). Drink with Donkey when his ears tell you to.
5. Somebody whistles. Whistles are the precursor to epic entrances. Drink in anticipation.
