3 Ways to Play the Football Drinking Game

Standard Football Drinking Game

Drink once for every:

  • First down
  • Flag thrown
  • Turnover
  • Field Goal
  • Challenge
  • Official review
  • Especially impressive play (offense, defense, or special teams)
  • Time the camera pans to a coach
  • Time the camera shows a city or landscape near the stadium

Drink twice for every:

  • Touchdown (+1 drink if it’s followed by a fun touchdown celebration)
  • Safety
  • Missed Field Goal
  • Shanked punt
  • Trick play
  • Onside kick
  • Time someone needs to fix their pads or remove grass from their helmet

Finish your drink if:

  • Your team loses

Pick a Team

  1. Pick a team to root for
  2. Drink once every time your team:
    • Gets a first down
    • Forces the other team to punt
    • Kicks a field goal
    • Makes a tackle for a loss (includes sacks)
    • Makes an especially impressive play (offense, defense, or special teams)
  3. Drink twice if your team:
    • Scores a touchdown
    • Forces a turnover
    • Wins a challenge
    • Runs a trick play
  4. Finish your drink if your team:
    • Wins
